This Swan started out as an authentic Louis Vuitton Damier Poche Toilette 26. This style is one of my FAVES, simple and classic!!! This bag is the perfect crossbody, holding plenty of things, and comes in at 10" wide by 7" tall and about 2" deep.
The bag's zipper was not functioning, so I removed it. The interior vachetta was in terrible shape (date code was unreadable) so I removed it completely, leaving the plain clean canvas. The exterior canvas is in really good shape. but does show some wear (after all, it IS vintage!!). The top edges have been stitched by hand with a chocolate colored leather lace. I added brass eyelets to the corners and beautiful brass rings to hold the matching leather adjustable crossbody strap and the pretty gold chain on the front. Both straps are removeable, so that you can carry it any way you please!!! There is a removeable insert that helps to keep all of your goodies organized and to keep the bag's structure. A gold button magnet snap holds the bag together.

About Vuittonite: Prior to 1997, Louis Vuitton lined many of its bags with a vinyl-like material known as Vuittonite. It was used (and patented) by Louis Vuitton because its resistance to water makes it easy to clean. Unfortunately, when exposed to high heat or humidity, Vuittonite begins to deteriorate and peel away from the edges of the bag. Over time, it becomes increasingly sticky, forming a residue (which, in extreme cases, is black in color) that transfers to anything placed inside the bag. If your Vuittonite is starting to get sticky, try putting some talcum powder inside, lightly coating it. It works!!!
